Make yourself a priority once in a while.

The Garden Cabin is my beautiful private wood cabin situated in the rear garden of my home in the quaint, rural town of Barnoldswick.  The cabin offers a calming space for you to enjoy your chosen therapy, or retreat day, and is just a stones throw from the canal and countryside

Barnoldswick, or Barlick as its known locally,  has been my home for twenty years, it was the rolling countryside in the foot hills of Weets hill, and the closeness to the canal, with its ample walks, which drew us to the area plus the location being between Skipton and Colne.

The cabin is double glazed and insulated and made from slow grown spruce.  Inside there is a small w.c is nice and toasty during the cooler months and kept cool in the warmer weather.  When you visit for a chosen therapy, a women’s health consultation or one of the retreat days,  you will be made to feel extra special and cared for.  Please be assured that anything you discuss with me is held in the strictest confidence, I adhere to a strict code of ethics and abide by the General Data Protection Regulations.

I opened The Natural Therapy Clinic, formerly The Natural Therapy Centre Colne, in May 2014 to offer a natural approach to improved health and wellbeing, following a time in my life when I struggled with my own undiagnosed auto immune disease. With no help, understanding, support or treatment available I embarked on a life changing journey, healing my condition in just under nine month by using nutrition, reflexology and massage.  After working on healing my leaky gut and reducing the chronic inflammation, my over active and hyper-sensitive immune system started to calm down which then healed my burnt out adrenal glands, chronic fatigue and restored my cognitive function of which was also affected.  This experience was very profound and changed my life for the better, I also connected with my true self by accepting that you can be a Christian and also an intuitive energy working which has been amazing.

During my illness I felt completely overwhelmed with the choice of therapies so decided to retrain, leave the corporate world, and realise my vision of opening my own natural health practice where I would offer a range of natural therapies within one location.

Since competing my Master Nutritionist qualification at Aston University, and additional study hours on gut health, menopause and women’s health challenges, I now dedicate my practice to helping women live their best lives.  As women, we are pretty amazing, yet complex, our immune systems are much more intricate than men’s as we are designed to carry children, and we have a very delicate balance of hormones.  These complexities can leave women more at risk of auto-immune conditions and hormonal issues which are often misunderstood.  As a nutritionist I take a ‘Functional Medicine’ approach, this simply means that we look to identify and address the root cause to re-establish balance in the body using natural healing methods which may include diet, lifestyle, emotional and physical support.

My clinic primarily serves women from across the North West of England with wide ranging health issues, such as menopause, peri-menopause, PCOS, endometriosis, fibroids, low mood and digestive health problems such as IBS, candida albicans and skin complaints. Consultations are available both in-clinic and remotely via video link which is perfect for those who are unable to meet face to face
